2018 Computer Classes at NA-FC Library
Featuring Classes on Microsoft Word and Excel
In February 2018, computer classes at the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library feature two levels of Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as classes on email and Internet safety. Registration is required, and each class can accommodate 8 students. To register for any of the following free classes, please visit the Customer Service Desk or call 812-949-3522. Computer classes are held in the Gallery Meeting Room, located on the lower level of the Library, right across from the elevator.
Beginner Word Make-UpThursday, February 1, 6:30-8:00 PM
If you missed out on last month’s session, here is another chance to take it. This is a class for those with little to no experience with Word. You will learn how to create and save documents, how to edit saved documents, how to change your font and text size, and basic formatting.
Beginner Excel Make-Up Tuesday, February 6, 6:30-8:00 PM
If you missed out on last month’s session, here is another chance to take it. This is a class for those who have little to no experience with Excel. You will learn how Excel works and how to enter data, along with some easy functions, the difference between numbers and text, and some terms related to Excel.
Intermediate Word Thursday, February 8, 6:30- 8:00 PM
Building on the skills learned in Beginner Word, participants will delve a little deeper into the functions of Word. You will learn how to find and replace, use the thesaurus, and organize toolbars.
Intermediate Excel Tuesday, February 13, 6:30-8:00 PM
Build on the skills you learned in Beginner Excel. You will learn how to do calculations, execute row and column management, and format cells, as well as using graphs and charts.
Email BasicsThursday, February 15, 6:30-8:00 PM
Learn the basics of email. Topics include: creating email messages; creating contacts; sending an attachment; and organizing email.
Staying Safe on the Internet Tuesday, February 20, 6:30-8:00 PMBuild on the skills you learned in Internet Basics to ensure that when you use the Web, you are using safe practices. Learn about some common misconceptions that are tied to the Internet as well as what you can do to protect your computer.
