Proposed Innovation Park In Georgetown
The Floyd County Board of Commissioners and Floyd County Redevelopment Commission are applying for a zoning map change though the Floyd County Plan Commission. The request is to change an existing sixty (60) acre tract located in Georgetown Township from Rural Residential to Office Business. The purpose for this request is the future development of Novaparke, the County’s Innovation and Technology campus.
This site was identified in the 2011 Edwardsville Gateway Master Plan to be the site for county’s effort to create a location to promote STEM business and employment development. Formerly known as the Beams and O’Brien properties, the site lends itself to the proposed use as an innovation and technology campus. The site is located in proximity to the Georgetown-Edwardsville Exit onto Interstate 64, it is located adjacent to the Town of Georgetown sanitary sewer east lift station and an Edwardsville Water Company main. As part of the proposed development plan, the County has been working with INDOT for a fully signalized intersection. This will include connecting the northern leg of the intersection with Oakes Road.
The project will be located at 6621 St Rd 64, Georgetown, IN 47122.
